Poster design to distribute a short documentary 'The Art of Doodling' which questions whether doodling is an art form to international film festivals.
'The Art of Doodling' ' follows three quirky artists who examine the random, universal activity that is doodling and are ask whether it really qualifies as art. The film intercuts footage of the artists talking and sketching with animations of their drawings.
After directing this short documentary in 2017 I decided to distribute the film to international festivals. To do this I needed a press kit and poster. Rather than featuring the artists themselves on the poster, I inverted their sketches and created a collage that reflected their different artistic styles and personalities. The film was officially selected for Melbourne Documentary Film Festival and won the Audience Award at Shortie Film Festival New York.
