Brand identity, logo, website, and social media asset design for an interactive re-imagining of Shakespeare's 'Much Ado About Nothing' set in a Mediterranean tavern.
"The brief was to create an daring visual identity that spoke to all the different types of work Queen Hades brings to Sydney including theatre, art, film, and activism without feeling too generic or overdone."
Queen Hades Productions is a company founded by creative Margaret Thanos that produces theatre and film, seeking out work where art and activism can intersect and motivate change. Queen Hades needed a holistic visual system that could work across the wide range of shows, collaborators, and campaigns it supports and could be adaptable across formats.
A bespoke painted typeface and photo filters combined with bold colours, typography, and striking black and white graphics helps Queen Hades make its mark on the Sydney indie arts scene.
"Riffing on the idea of Greek mythology and classical imagery while avoiding cliches was a fun design challenge."
Developing a clear and unique voice for Queen Hades was quite the undertaking. Keeper Studio collaborated with copywriter Clara Daley to create a bold and playful tone across graphics and text, pairing catchphrases with artworks to build a vibrant and recognisable presence online that stood out from the Sydney arts crowd.
